Ailey spent most of the day today 

with her Grandma and Grandpa...

and while that's fabulous -- 

I didn't get to ask her about school 

early enough in the day to get a whole lot 

of information about her day.

Although I'm pretty sure it was a good one.

I do know she was VERY excited to wear BLUE to school today.

(they were supposed to)

She did tell me that Grandma and Grandpa took her 

to Subway for lunch and that she was SUPER excited 

for them to pick her up from school

(actually the very first thing she said 

this morning was about that very thing!)

"Grandma & Grandpa came to pick me up!!!"

"I learned about Buh-Buh-Buh- B."

And because I didn't get a chance 

to take any pictures of her today...

We are now 4days out from Emily's wedding... 

and I think for the most part we're ready... 

It's nice to have family here and we look forward 

to the rest coming in later in the week.

Thursday's post may for this reason be a little late in coming...

but things should slow down for us after the weekend!

So... show and tell day.

A kids favorite day for sure.

'Pokey' was today's choice.

Pokey was given to Ailey by Jesse's Family...

(Emily Senior's fiance's family for those wondering

Meet Pokey:

Ailey LOVES Pokey...

She now sleeps with him every night.

When I asked her what she said about him - 

this was our conversation:

Me: "Did you say 'This is Pokey?"'

Ailey: "No"

Me: "What did you say then?"

Ailey: "I said, 'this is Pokey"'

Me: "That's what I just said."

Ailey: "No Mom, I didn't say it that happy.

I just said it normal"

I apparently was trying to 

introduce Pokey with too much happiness.

Gosh, I love her.

Ailey's favorite things about school today:

"Mrs. Corron was on a trip so there was this other mom 

of a kid in my class today. She held up Pokey.  

Mrs. Corron was gone, the mom was nice, but I wanted Mrs. Corron."

"Mrs. Gin taught me how to cut with scissors.  

I loooovvve scissors."

(emphasis on love - 

**and I caught her trying to 

get the scissors out of the drawer today - 

I guess we'll be putting those out of reach... 

where they should be already)

Another good day at school.

I'm so glad she loves it...

(I also love how long her afternoon naps are after she comes home from it - but shhh... don't tell her!) :)

We're all doing well - busy with Emily's wedding approaching.

All the big things are pretty much done though -

and so it's now just finishing the details.

And Ailey is going to be the most adorable flower girl ever.

(and well behaved, I hope.)

"We read a story about an alligator 

who wanted to be an astronaut."

(I wish you could hear the excitement in which she actually said this with... it was almost giggly)

"They had an apple with a fork in it so I could paint.

I dipped the fork in the paint and then stuck it on my A.

It was so fun"

"I hopped and danced and acted like an elephant!

I think elephant's like to dance. No, mom - they do...

Elephant's are really good dancers"

I should be relieved...  

Ailey woke up this morning ready to go to school.

I love her excitement - it's honestly contagious.

I just wish she'd still feel this way in about 12years...

But for now - 

I will gladly take my excited three year old.

"Reading a story about a frog... He's green. The frog was green, but I don't remember all the story."

"I sat on a square and Strawberry Shortcake was on it!"

"Mrs. Corron helped me play playdough.

She was so ready to go... 

She kept trying to hurry me out the door!

Ailey had a great time on her first day...

She pretty quickly waved me off after arriving at school.

And she talked about nothing else for the rest of the day when she got home... I'm pretty sure that makes day one at preschool pretty successful.

Her favorite thing today: 

Getting to play with sparkly play dough at school

They are learning about the color RED
